In Loving Memory of Audrey (Cheyenne) Robillard

“And though she be but little, she is fierce.” These words capture the spirit of Audrey (Cheyenne) Robillard, who passed away on July 25, 2026 at the age of 87. A country girl at heart, Audrey’s small stature was always surpassed by her kind character, independent spirit, and surprising wit.

Born is Settler, Alberta, on March 15, 1939 Audrey was the eldest child of Cheyenne and Vernon Stumpf. When her father passed away at an early age her fierce sense of duty emerged as she stepped up to help her mother support her younger siblings. She spent her early years in Alberta before moving to Ontario as a child, eventually returning to her home province. Audrey took great pride in the role as the protective big sister to her younger brother, Richard, and her beloved little sister Roxanne (Roxy).

For close to forty years Audrey was the devoted partner of Denny Williamson. She was heartbroken when Denny passed a little over two years ago. They built a life together first in Calgary and then in their home on the golf course in Cochrane. In her younger years Audrey could be spotted on the ski slopes with Denny or with a golf club in hand. Audrey and Denny became snowbirds for nearly 25 years wintering in the warmth of Arizona where they built a wonderful community of friendships. Audrey, who always felt the cold, found great comfort in those sunny winters. Her family finds peace knowing that she is now ‘cozy warm’, reunited with her spunky spark and having fun with Denny and other loved ones who have passed before her.

Audrey built a long and dedicated career at the Alberta Treasury Branch (ATB). She was a dedicated and loyal employee and reluctantly retired. It was during her time there she met Marge, who became a wonderful, life long friend.

Audrey always amazed everyone at family dinners, that someone so small could out eat all and always have room for dessert. This was following her favourite beverage, a big glass of cold milk.

Audrey found great joy in her Alberta heritage, especially watching the Calgary Rodeo and the chuckwagon races or enjoying a good old-fashioned western movie. A fierce lover of animals, her closest companion for many years was her beloved white cat, Softie, who provided constant comfort and friendship. Audrey also had a memory like a steel trap for special occasions and celebrations of others. She never missed reaching out on a birthday or other special events. Another testament to her kind and thoughtful heart. 

Audrey was famously reluctant to leave her home, remaining there until only a few months before her passing, even as things became progressively more difficult. Her family is deeply grateful to the community on Riverview Circle and beyond who made this possible, specifically, they wish to thank her next-door-neighbour, Colin, who was incredibly helpful and protective of both Audrey and her home. His kindness, along with the help of those who traveled for check-ins and shopping excursions, allowed Audrey to stay exactly where she wanted to be.

In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, there will be no public or formal funeral service. Instead, Denise, Wendy and Kelly will host a celebration of her life in the home that meant so much to her. The time and date will be shared with family and friends in the near future.

Audrey is lovingly remembered by Denny’s daughter’s, Denise, Wendy and Kelly, grandchildren Including Chelsea (Michael), Meghan (Mathew), Phoebe, Macarthy, Hayden and Grayson and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Emma. She also is remembered by sister-in-law Corinne and brother-in-law Jim, and her brother Richard who Audrey generously shared her home with this past year. Audrey was predeceased by her parents Cheyenne and Vernon, her loving partner Denny and her beloved sister Roxanne (Roxy).
