Darrell Erwin Croswell, 72, of Cochrane, AB, passed away on March 25th, 2026, at Dulcina Hospice at St. Marguerite Manor in Calgary, AB.

He was born on May 5th, 1953, to Ella and Leonard Croswell in Edmonton, AB, and grew up in New Brook, AB. 

Darrell attended Brockville Bible College in Ontario, then moved to Camrose and went to Camrose Lutheran College. From there, he moved to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta. After graduation, he worked for the solicitor general in correctional services.

He met the love of his life, Linda Egert, in 1981 at church in Edmonton. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married in Camrose on July 31, 1982. They moved to Medicine Hat shortly after.

 Darrell and Linda couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. They had two boys, Jordan Darrell Croswell (36) and Nathan Anthony Croswell (34), and he was a loving father to them both. 

In his younger days, he enjoyed active hobbies like hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. His Christian faith was very important to him, and he served on the church board in Medicine Hat.

One of Darrell's favourite roles was that of being a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and, while he was able, loved getting down on the floor and playing with the babies. Later, he enjoyed watching them, reading to them, and giving them snuggles on the couch. They were the joy of his life. His three granddaughters, Clementine (3), Isla (2), and Gemma (1) will hear many stories about their Grandpa Darrell as they grow up.

 Darrell is survived by his wife, Linda, his sons, Jordan (Brittany and Clementine) and Nathan (Kelsey, Isla, and Gemma), and his siblings, Laurence (Faye), Marvin (Lynette), and Karen (Brian). He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Croswell, and father, Leonard Croswell.Though Darrell had many health issues in life, he handled them extremely well and with grace. The Croswell family couldn’t have asked for a better husband, uncle, brother, father, and grandfather. His memory will live on in the stories we tell and in the hearts of all who loved him.

A Memorial service will be officiated by Mike Landry on Friday, April 10th at RockPointe Church-Bearspaw 255024 Lochend Rd, Calgary, AB at 1:00pm.
