Dennis William Dorosh passed away in Calgary, Alberta, on September 10, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born on November 2, 1948, in Melfort, Saskatchewan.

Dennis will be remembered as a man with a strong spirit, someone who was never afraid to offer his opinion on a subject, or to let you know how he was feeling at the time. Beneath that forthright nature was a deep love for his family, especially for the grandchildren who brought him so much pride and happiness.

He shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gwen, and together they built a life rooted in family. Dennis took great joy in the time he spent with those he loved, whether on family camping trips, out fishing with his brothers, or simply enjoying time together at the Greig Lake cabin with Gwen, Joan, Gord, and the grandchildren. He loved learning about history, and with his background in mechanics he had a special fascination with airplanes and all there was to know about them. He was particularly interested in De Havilland Beavers and Otters. His passion for museums, especially those dedicated to aircraft and automobiles, gave him places where his curiosity and love of learning could truly flourish. Even in the smaller moments of life, Dennis’s heart showed itself in lasting ways. He always had a fondness for the family pets - Tiny in years past and Peanut more recently. Although he may not have wanted a puppy to begin with, once Gwen brought Peanut to their home, Peanut quickly won his heart and became his faithful companion and little buddy.

He is lovingly remembered by Gwen, his wife of 56 years; by his daughter, Joan and her husband Gord Latchuk of Cochrane, Alberta; by his grandchildren Jayden Latchuk (Jessica Hoffman) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Devon (Brielle) Latchuk of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Hunter Latchuk (Bethany Poettcker) of Cochrane, Alberta. He is also survived by his brothers, David (Lynne) Dorosh of Sturgis, Saskatchewan, and Allan (Michelle) Dorosh of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.

Those who knew Dennis will remember a man who loved deeply, spoke plainly, and found happiness in family, learning, and the outdoors. His memory will live on in the stories shared by those who loved him and in the many moments they were fortunate to spend by his side.
