A Yorkshireman then a Canadian
Geoff was born 26 Oct 1931 the youngest son of Reginald Alderman and Bertha Blenkharn in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He had an older brother John and a younger sister Kathleen.
Blessedly Geoff died on August 7, 2025, at home after a short illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lynda, his sons Ben and Jon, his grand-daughter Chloe, in- laws, nieces, nephews and their families.
Geoff graduated with Honours Geology from the University of Sheffield. Shortly after graduation he immigrated to Canada. His first job was with Shell Oil in Regina, then Shell Oil in Calgary and Sproule and Associates in Calgary. He retired from Forest Oil in Calgary in 1990. His first musical instrument was a cello then he chose the piano which he played for the rest of his life. He welcomed good health in his retirement, read extensively, mainly history, and lived a long life for which he was very grateful. As per his wish there will be no formal funeral service.
