Iona Jean Fuhrer

Iona Jean Fuhrer, born December 20, 1943, in Olds, Alberta, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Cochrane, Alberta, with her loving family by her side. A remarkable woman with a vibrant spirit, Iona will be remembered for the warmth she brought to the lives of those around her.

Iona is survived by her cherished family, including her daughter Diane Taylor of Vancouver, BC, along with her grandchildren Alexandra and Matthew; Brenda Nystrom of Nelson, BC, son-in-law Rob, and grandchildren Erik, Kate, and Kari; and her son Brian Fuhrer of Calgary, AB, daughter-in-law Crystal, and her grandsons Jack and Nolan.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Laurie Jean Fuhrer, who left this world far too soon on April 27, 1974, and her beloved husband Floyd Fuhrer, who passed away on January 31, 2012.

Iona's life was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her surviving loved ones who are grateful for the time they shared with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM at the Cochrane RancheHouse, located at 101 RancheHouse Rd, Cochrane, Alberta, T4C 2K8. Friends and family are invited to join together to honor and celebrate the life of Iona Jean Fuhrer, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
