IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michelle Lee
Walker
December 25, 1977 – February 8, 2026
Michelle Lee Walker, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly in Cochrane, Alberta, on February 8, 2026. Born on Christmas Day in Fort St. John B.C. Michelle spent her life seeking knowledge and sharing it with others.
As a dedicated teacher at both Captain Nichola Goddard School and Arbour Lake School, Michelle didn't just instruct; she advocated for a world built on acceptance and kindness. She was a woman of fierce intellect who craved learning, often found lost in a book for hours or engaging in a spirited debate about philosophy and world affairs. While she was frequently the "life of the party" with her quick wit, Michelle also possessed a quiet, deeply kind soul—one she shared generously with her community and the animals at the Cochrane Humane Society.
Though Michelle’s light shone bright, she carried a heavy burden that she fought for many years. Her family chooses to remember the woman who loved a good book, a sharp debate, and the quiet company of a cat. She is survived by her two children, her mother, and her sister. In accordance with her wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cochrane Humane Society in honor of her love for animals.
