Robert Daniel Seidler, born on November 2, 1946, in Fairview, Alberta, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. He was a beloved figure, known for his dedication to both his career and family.
Robert had a diverse and fulfilling career that included farming, working in the oilfield, and owning a hotel. His professional endeavors were marked by a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional life, Robert was a long-time member of the Legion, reflecting his community spirit and dedication to service.
An avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, Robert cherished his time spent golfing, hunting, curling, and woodworking. These hobbies not only brought him joy but also allowed him to create lasting memories with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Dona Seidler, and his daughter Whitney Chan. He was a proud grandfather to Adrian Chan, Parker Chan, and Blake Chan, who were the light of his life. In addition to his immediate family, Robert is also survived by his siblings: Brenda (DK) Hale, Shelley Snisarenko, Carrie Tyrkus, and his brother Herb Seidler (Kathy), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Martha, his father, Daniel Seidler and his brother-in-law Harry Trykus. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved and cherished him.
A private family ceremony to honor Robert's life will be held on October 9, 2025 in Cochrane. A second service will be held on October 25, 2025 at the Dave Shaw Community Hall at Hines Creek, AB at 2pm with an interment and fellowship to follow.
His remarkable legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
