It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my Dad Terrance Gordon Taylor, on June 7, 2026. Terry, as he was known to all, was a kind and caring man, father to all of my friends, a true Ride or Die to his friends, a loving brother to his brothers and sisters and a very proud uncle to his nephews and niece. After retiring from a successful career with Syncrude in the Oilsands of Ft. McMurray, Terry went on to run a charter and shuttle service out of Canmore Alberta, work with a Master Mechanic on the restoration of several local Hot Rods, and after the passing of my Mom, hit the road in his 5th wheel and Dodge Dually exploring America. He became known to all in the Bow River’s Edge Campground (AKA BREC) as Mr. Fix it…if something on your RV was needing repair, call Terry! He can fix anything!!

Terry was Predeceased by his Wife of 42 years, my Mom Carol Jean Taylor (née Gerow), and is survived by me, his daughter Jean Louise Taylor, his Sisters Reta Downing, Ruby Kemmer and her Husband Kel and their 2 sons, his brother Brad Taylor and his wife Melody and their 2 sons, and his brother Brent Taylor and his wife Stacey and their 3 children. Dad's family and many friends from school, Work and BREC will miss his humour, stories, and most of all, his kindness and compassion.

To honour his wishes, there will be no service at this time, but my family would be honoured by any donations made in Terry’s name to Alzheimer’s Society and the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Center. My family would also like to send their extreme gratitude and thanks to the staff of Ward 125, for their unfailing, thorough and compassionate care of my Dad in his last weeks with us. The team are truly a special group of people with big hearts and an endless supply of empathy and caring for their patients, and we are truly grateful he was in their hands at the end.

“When times are hard I know you’ll be strong

I’ll be there in you heart when you’ll carry on

Like moonlight on the water, and sunlight in the sky

Fathers and daughters never say goodbye”- Fathers and Daughters (Michael Bolton)
