Timothy "Tim" David Buckler

Timothy "Tim" David Buckler was born on March 25, 1955, in Calgary, Alberta, and passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, in Calgary. He was 71 years old.

Tim was a country soul through and through. He appreciated the simple things in life, loved being outdoors, and was always happiest around good people, good conversation, and a little adventure. Whether he was paddling a canoe, reading a good book, or tinkering with computers, Tim had a curious mind and a quiet way of enjoying life.

Growing up near Cochrane, Tim loved sports; he played bush league fastball and midget hockey. His adventurous side also took him halfway around the world on a farm exchange to New Zealand and traveling throughout Canada and the United States.

Tim cared deeply about people. He was a member of Toastmasters, helping others become more confident. He also spent many years co-facilitating a self-help group in Cochrane. Helping others wasn't something Tim did for recognition—it was simply who he was.

After working as a social worker for many years, Tim helped establish and operate Buckler’s U-Pick berry farm on the Buckler Century Farm for 20 years.

Through joys and hardships alike, his resilience and unwavering determination were an inspiration for his family and friends.

Family meant everything to Tim. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Hellen Buckler and Valerie (Lloyd) Marshall, and his brothers, John (Reet) Buckler and Charlie Buckler. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews who shared family gatherings, laughs, and memories over the years.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, Ellen and Henry Buckler; his brothers, Thomas (his twin) and Victor Buckler; and his grandparents, Arthur and Susan Norris, and David and Lillie Buckler.

Those who knew Tim will remember his kind heart, his steady nature, his willingness to lend a hand, and his genuine interest in others. He didn't need to be the loudest person in the room to make a difference. He was the kind of man who made people feel welcome, shared what he knew, and enjoyed life's simple pleasures.

Tim will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His stories, his kindness, and his quiet strength will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alberta Lung Health.
